BUA Group has clarified that its 200,000 barrels-per-day refinery in Akwa Ibom State has not yet reached 90% completion, countering recent reports suggesting otherwise.
In a statement issued by the company, the management stated, “Whilst the refinery is not at 90% completion, we are however on track to meet our delivery timelines in collaboration with our partners.
“This BUA Refinery & Petrochemicals project represents a major milestone in strengthening Nigeria’s refining capacity and energy security.”
The company highlighted progress in its other energy ventures, including a mini-LNG plant and several hybrid power plants across the country, which aim to add to its existing 1,000MW of installed captive power generation capacity.
BUA Group advised the public to rely on official communication for accurate updates. “The public is advised to verify any news through our official channels and platforms so as not to be misled by mischievous persons,” the statement added.
Reiterating its commitment to transparency, BUA stated, “At BUA, we remain committed to transparency and excellence.
