The Yobe State Police Command has successfully neutralized three armed robbers involved in a violent robbery at Ngalda Market. The robbers had earlier killed seven people, injured 11, and stolen N16.5 million.
According to the commandโs spokesperson, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the robbers were intercepted during a gunfight with police operatives. Three of the suspects were killed, while three others fled with severe injuries. The gang leader, identified as Alhaji Dadji, a native of Ngalda, was arrested during the operation.
A locally-made pistol was recovered from the scene. The bodies of the deceased and injured victims have been taken to Fika General Hospital for medical treatment and forensic analysis.
Reacting to the attack, Yobe State Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, directed a full-scale investigation to apprehend the fleeing suspects. He also urged residents to remain calm and provide any helpful information to aid ongoing investigations.
The police extended condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the culprits are brought to justice.
