The management team of the Taye Currency concert, held in Ibadan, Oyo State, yesterday, revealed that singer Habib Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was not allowed to perform due to security concerns.
According to Jarule Entertainment, the concert’s organizer, Portable’s recent comments about Ibadan raised significant security concerns. Following consultations with the Commissioner of Police and signing an undertaking, the decision was made to exclude Portable from the event.
“We had adequate security at the venue, but reports indicated that some individuals were inquiring about Portable’s whereabouts and accommodations in Ibadan,” Jarule Entertainment stated. “As a precautionary measure, we decided it was best for him to stay away from the show entirely.”
Portable was the only artist on the lineup who did not perform. The management team expressed regret over the situation, prioritizing the safety of everyone involved.
“We hope this matter can be resolved soon,” they added.
