Hellen Mutimu, a 31-year-old Kenyan hairdresser, has publicly challenged Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, to undergo a DNA test to prove the paternity of her child.
The demand comes after Cubana denied any affiliation with Mutimu or her child.
Mutimu claims that she met the 43-year-old nightlife entrepreneur at a friend’s wedding in Lagos, Nigeria, in April 2022, resulting in her pregnancy. She alleges that Cubana initially promised support but later blocked her and advised her to return to Kenya.
In response to Mutimu’s accusations, Cubana Chief Priest firmly refuted claims of abandoning or fathering her child, emphasizing that he would never neglect his own, given his substantial financial resources. He revealed that he had invited Mutimu to Nigeria to clarify the situation, but she declined, insisting on receiving money first for her baby’s welfare and hospital expenses.
Mutimu has now escalated the dispute, declaring on Instagram, “Pascal, DNA is a must.” She shared alleged chat receipts between herself and Cubana, in which he purportedly denied being the father.
The controversy first surfaced in 2023, with Cubana dismissing Mutimu’s claims as “an act of blackmail.” He suggested a DNA test to resolve the matter, asserting that his wealth would enable him to care for any child he fathered outside his marriage.
The paternity dispute recently resurfaced during an online feud between Cubana and Nigerian artist Burna Boy. Mutimu accused Cubana of abandoning her and their child, leaving her homeless since 2023. Burna Boy allegedly offered support to Mutimu, but his associates have been accused of soliciting intimate and financial favors from her before providing the promised assistance.
