Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday welcomed the newly appointed Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, pledging a collaborative effort to implement policies that will benefit Lagos residents.
Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, received Meranda and other principal officers of the Assembly at the State Executive Council Chambers in Alausa, Ikeja, shortly before their weekly meeting.
Meranda assumed office as Speaker the previous Monday following the removal of her predecessor, Mudashiru Obasa, by Assembly members over allegations of misconduct and financial mismanagement.
During her first sitting last Friday, she announced a new leadership structure and formed a seven-member Selection Committee.
At the courtesy visit, Sanwo-Olu assured Lagosians of continued synergy between the Executive and Legislative arms. โThis alignment between the Executive and Legislative arms ensures that Lagos remains a model of excellence in governance.
โWe will build on the successes of the past and work tirelessly to deliver transformational progress across all sectors,โ he stated.
He added, โTogether, we will continue to implement policies and projects that deliver on our Greater Lagos vision.โ
