Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has labeled United States President-elect Donald Trump as a “disruptor,” offering a stark perspective on the eve of Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president of the U.S.
In a thought-provoking post shared on his X handle on Monday, Sani described Trump as a formidable figure poised to shake the global order.
“Mr. Trump takes over the American presidency today. A disruptor takes power. It’s going to be a great challenge to the world,” Sani stated.
He foresees a seismic shift in international dynamics, with Trump embodying the essence of an “American nationalist and businessman vs. the world.”
Sani predicts Trump will “pull the plug or change the plugs” in major global institutions like the UN, EU, NATO, and reshape America’s relations with the rest of the world.
“He will be feared and not loved,” Sani declared, warning that Trump will inevitably face resistance from both allies and adversaries alike.
“He will try to reset everything, and that is where the discomfort will come,” he added.
Turning his gaze to Africa, Sani remarked, “Africa should not expect anything much from Trump, even though Biden didn’t do much either. Trump is back and, sadly, without Mugabe.
The world must not give up or compromise its universal human values.”
As Trump steps into the global arena, Sani’s words cast a sobering light on the turbulent path ahead.
