Sociedad eye move for Chukwueze

According to an Italian publication, All Milan, Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze could be set for a return to Spain with La Liga outfits Real Sociedad eyeing a move for the winger, NewsNGR Sports Extra reports.

Chukwueze joined Milan from Spanish club Villarreal during the 2023 summer transfer window for a deal worth €20m plus some substantial bonuses, which made him the most expensive signing of a window that saw 10 players join the San Siro outfit.

Since joining the Rossoneri, the Nigerian has struggled to replicate the form that made him a household name at the Yellow Submarines during his five-year spell at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

The 25-year-old has made only 56 appearances for Milan, scoring seven goals and registering four assists since arriving at San Siro.

The Super Eagles forward scored the match-winner against Parma on Sunday to help the Italian giants stay alive in the title race but that was not enough to persuade the club from trying to offload him.

With Milan keen on offloading him, All Milan wrote that reports have emerged from Spain that the Nigerian was wanted by Sociedad.

“The Nigerian’s future is not as clear as it may seem. From Spain, they report that Real Sociedad is on his trail. This is what the Spanish newspaper Super Deporte wrote,” the outlet wrote.

Chukwueze could be among several players sacrificed to fund new arrivals, with Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic attracting interest from Turkey, while Noah Okafor has suitors in England.

While no concrete offers have arrived for Chukwueze yet, his potential departure would mark a premature end to his Milan career after just 18 months at the San Siro.
