Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, former Senior Pastor of the City of David parish at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has launched his personal ministry, โThe Family Fellowship.โ
Iluyomade was suspended from RCCG in 2024, following undisclosed reasons, though it was widely believed to be linked to his management of the Trinity Tower project and his wifeโs controversial birthday celebration shortly after the death of prominent church member Herbert Wigwe, then Managing Director of Access Bank.
Recently, Pastor Iluyomade took to Instagram, inviting the public to the inaugural service of his new ministry at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The invitation read, โThe Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lordโs presence. Promises to be a great experience.โ
A video surfaced showing the pastor celebrating and dancing with attendees during the service. Additionally, it was reported that Iluyomade hosted a Christmas concert with dignitaries at the Eko Hotel & Suites under the new ministryโs name.
Sources within RCCG, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that although itโs unclear whether Pastor Iluyomade formally resigned from RCCG, he attended the churchโs September Holy Ghost service after his suspension ended. There are speculations that he was unhappy with the RCCG leadership.
There are also rumors suggesting that Iluyomade may have received the blessing of RCCG General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye before launching his new ministry. Some believe his appearance at a Holy Communion service at Redemption City late last year was part of securing Pastor Adeboyeโs approval.
Iluyomade is also reported to have been holding a small fellowship at his law firm in Victoria Island for several weeks.
