Taraba Govt Applauds Nigerian Army for Enhancing State Security
The Taraba State Government, under the leadership of Governor Agbu Kefas, has showered accolades on the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army for its unwavering dedication to fostering peace and security throughout the state.
This commendation was delivered during the 2024 Combined Headquarters 6 Brigade Nigerian Army West African Social Activities (WASA), an event hosted on Wednesday at the prestigious Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo metropolis.
Representing the governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps, conveyed heartfelt appreciation for the Brigade’s relentless efforts in combating insecurity.
He also reaffirmed the administration’s steadfast commitment to bolstering the Brigade’s operations into 2025.
“The government deeply appreciates the dedication and professionalism of the 6 Brigade in ensuring the safety of our communities,” Kataps emphasized.
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), spotlighted the essence of the WASA celebration. He described it as a platform to reflect on the Brigade’s notable achievements over the past year and to honor the unwavering resilience and professionalism of its troops.
“Despite significant security challenges, we mitigated threats to the barest minimum through determination and professionalism,” General Uwa remarked.
He further expressed gratitude for the state government’s invaluable support, particularly in augmenting operations with enhanced logistics. Assuring the people of Taraba State, General Uwa reiterated the Brigade’s unflinching commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and supporting civil authorities.
