President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Saturday to attend the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in the United Arab Emirates. The high-profile summit, scheduled from January 12 to 18, is an annual gathering focused on advancing global sustainability efforts.
ADSW, initiated by UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, provides a platform for world leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to explore strategies for driving sustainable development and socioeconomic progress. The event has been held for over 15 years, fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration and forming impactful partnerships across sectors.
In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser, highlighted the significance of the summit.
“ADSW is a testament to the power of collaboration, driving impactful alliances and advancing the sustainability agenda globally. It has consistently birthed high-value agreements and partnerships between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy pioneers,” Onanuga said.
President Tinubu is expected to use the summit to showcase Nigeria’s recent reforms in energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development. He will also meet with UAE leaders to discuss bilateral relations and explore areas of mutual interest.
Accompanying the president are Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other senior government officials. President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria on January 16.
