In a daring display of tactical precision, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), thwarted a retaliatory onslaught by bandits on Bilbis community in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, on the 12th ofJanuary, 2025.
The foiled attack was reportedly a fallout of the elimination of a notorious terrorist leader, Kachalla Jafaru, during a recent “fire-for-fire” military operation in Bilbis.
Jafaru, infamous for orchestrating kidnappings for ransom and terrorizing communities such as Hayin Gada and Kunchin Kalgo, was a sibling to the infamous bandit kingpin, Ado Aliero, one of Nigeria’s most-wanted criminals.
According to sources, enraged bandits had mobilized to avenge Jafaru’s death.
However, their plans were intercepted as security operatives, acting on a tip-off, launched a swift counter-operation at around 11:54 a.m. With unwavering precision, the military, supported by CJTF members, neutralized multiple bandits, inflicted severe injuries on others, and recovered motorcycles and weapons used for the planned attack.
A resident, recounted how security operatives evacuated the lifeless bodies of five bandits on motorcycles and another from a vehicle, alongside confiscated items.
While the military is yet to release an official statement, the community is lauding the operatives for their proactive measures, ensuring safety and peace in the troubled region.
