Trump’s Bold Move: Executive Order Recognizes DOGE, Elon Musk Weighs In

The newly sworn-in 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has unveiled a groundbreaking executive order that marks the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

This bold move was confirmed in a White House statement released on the 21st of January, 2025, shedding light on the president’s latest initiative.
According to the executive order, DOGE is set to “implement the President’s DOGE Agenda by modernising federal technology and software to maximise governmental efficiency and productivity.”

As part of this sweeping reform, the US Digital Service has undergone a striking transformation, now rebranded as the US DOGE Service.

The statement further elaborates: “Reorganisation and Renaming of the United States Digital Service. The United States Digital Service is hereby publicly renamed as the United States DOGE Service (USDS) and shall be established in the Executive Office of the President.”

Reacting to the announcement, Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur behind X and Tesla, and now one of DOGE’s key leaders, expressed his optimism: “There will be meaningful progress every week.”
