80,000 defectors set to join Benue APC – Chairman

The Chairman of the Benue State All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee, Benjamin Omale, has announced that over 80,000 members from various opposition parties are set to officially join the ruling APC in the state.

Omale made this revelation in a statement issued on Sunday in Makurdi, commending the growing support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration and its developmental strides.

He attributed the mass defection to the governor’s inclusive governance and commitment to rebuilding the state.

“Our party, the All Progressives Congress, in Benue is growing stronger daily, with thousands of opposition party members trooping in. Very soon, I will officially receive over 80,000 decampees into the APC,” Omale stated.

He further emphasised the unwavering support Governor Alia had received from both party members and the general public, which he described as a testament to the people’s trust in his leadership and developmental vision.

Omale also lauded the Benue State House of Assembly for its commitment to judicial integrity, particularly its recommendation for the removal of the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Maurice Ikpambese.

He praised the Assembly for aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s administration and ensuring that Governor Alia’s mandate remains protected.

Furthermore, Omale acknowledged the contributions of the APC Elders Forum, led by Senator Barnabas Gemade, for their steadfast support and guidance during what he described as politically turbulent times.

He also extended appreciation to community development agencies across the 23 local government areas for their dedication to grassroots progress and development.

“As the APC continues to consolidate its hold in Benue State, I call on party members and all well-meaning citizens to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Alia’s administration. Let us stay united in our collective mission to rebuild and transform Benue State,” he urged.

Omale concluded by calling for continued prayers for Governor Alia, seeking divine guidance, protection, and wisdom for his leadership as he continues efforts to take the state to greater heights.
