Alumni award scholarships to deaf undergraduates

The Ikeja High School Old Students Association Global has provided scholarships to some outstanding graduates of the school who just gained admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The scholarships were presented in an event titled, ‘Scholarship Award Presentation to 12 outstanding students of Ikeja High School’, held at GRA Ikeja on Thursday.

A sum of N1m was presented by the association to the beneficiaries who included three individuals with hearing changes.

Speaking at the event, the Global President of IHSOSA, Bridget Taremotimi, urged the students to be good ambassadors of their alma mater anywhere they are.

Also, the Public Relations Officer of the association, Opeoluwa Taiwo, praised the students and their parents for making the school proud with excellent academic records.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the Education District VI. The Ministry of Education was represented by the Director of Administration, Amodu Olumuyiwa, who appreciated the forum of old students’ association for their continuous sacrifice in encouraging good academic positions.

He urged the outgoing students to emulate this gesture while giving back to their alma mater.
