Assault: Police launch manhunt for suspended Ogun monarch’s accomplices
The Ogun State Police Command says it has begun a manhunt for the accomplices of the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo, Oba Olawale Ogunjobi, who is facing trial for assaulting a 73-year-old chief, Areola Abraham.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Omoloa Odutola, disclosed this in a post on her X page on Tuesday.
According to Odutola, the accomplices included one Lukosi and others who are yet to be identified.
She said, “Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi was arraigned before Ifo Magistrate Court on three counts of conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to breach the peace.
“The case has been adjourned to March 6, 2025. Olukosi and others at large will be arrested.”
PUNCH Online reports that Ogunjobi was dragged to court on Tuesday following his suspension by the Ogun State Government on Monday.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that Ogunjobi was arraigned on three counts but was granted bail by the magistrate.
He added that the matter was adjourned to March 6 for further hearing.
Embattled Ogunjobi came under fire after a video surfaced online depicting him as laying curses on Areola.
The video drew condemnation from Nigerians who demanded that justice should be served.
