Baba-Ahmed University, AAPU President Discuss Future of Private Universities
The President of the Association of African Private Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, on Thursday visited Baba-Ahmed University, Kano, to discuss strategies for advancing private universities across Africa.
Prof. Gwarzo, leading a delegation from Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), was accompanied by MAAUN’s President, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, along with senior staff. They were received at the university’s open theater by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adamu Tanko Idris, staff, and students.
Prof. Tanko Idris described the visit as significant and acknowledged Prof. Gwarzo’s role in education. He said, “May Allah continue to bless him with long life and good health to sustain his impact in the education sector.”
Prof. Gwarzo emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among private universities to improve research and innovation. He also acknowledged the efforts of the university’s management and founder, Datti Baba-Ahmed, in promoting education.
Prof. Gwarzo urged the university’s staff to support the Vice-Chancellor, saying he had confidence in his leadership.
During the visit, two students presented Prof. Gwarzo with an award of excellence.
