Benue APC chair praises state assembly for backing judicial reforms

The Chairman of the Benue State All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee, Benjamin Omale, has praised the state assembly for its efforts to uphold judicial integrity through its resolution to remove the state Chief Judge, Justice Maurice Ikpambese.
In a statement issued to journalists in Makurdi on Sunday, Omale also lauded the APC Elders’ Forum, led by Senator Barnabas Gemade, for providing support and guidance during politically turbulent times.
The state party caretaker chairman acknowledged the resilience and commitment of Benue citizens in standing with Governor Alia in his mission to rebuild the state.
Omale noted that the governor’s developmental strides and inclusive governance have attracted over 80,000 members from various opposition parties who have expressed interest in joining the ruling APC in Benue.
He further stated that the overwhelming support for the governor, both within and outside the party, is a testament to the people’s trust in his leadership and vision for development.
“Our party, the All Progressives Congress in Benue, is growing stronger daily, with thousands of opposition members defecting to join us.
“Very soon, I will officially receive over 80,000 new members from opposition parties into the APC. The massive support for Governor Alia, particularly in the fight against corruption, is commendable.
“I specifically commend the Benue State House of Assembly for its firm stance on judicial integrity, which led to the removal of the former Chief Judge. Their alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s administration in ensuring Governor Alia’s mandate is protected is also noteworthy.
“Furthermore, the party deeply appreciates the APC Elders’ Forum, led by Senator Barnabas Gemade, for their unwavering support and guidance during these challenging political times. We also extend our gratitude to all community development agencies across the 23 local government areas for their dedication to grassroots progress and development.
“As the APC continues to strengthen its position in Benue State, I urge party members and all well-meaning citizens to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Alia’s administration.
“As we move forward in our collective mission to rebuild and transform Benue State, let us remain united in our pursuit of progress and development. Most importantly, let us continue to pray for God’s guidance, protection, and wisdom upon our governor so that he may continue his good work in taking Benue to greater heights.”
