BUK to Confer Honorary Degrees on A.A. Rano, Sani Bello
Bayero University, Kano, is set to honor the Chairman of A.A. Rano Group of Companies, Alhaji Auwalu Rano, and Colonel Sani Bello (retired), a former Military Governor of Kano State, with honorary degrees.
In an invitation signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sagir Abbas, the prestigious awards will be conferred upon the two distinguished individuals during the university’s 39th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled for February 12–15, 2025.
A.A. Rano is a businessman and oil magnate who founded A.A. Rano Industries Nigeria Limited, a company involved in various industries, including oil and gas, airlines, and agriculture.
Colonel Sani Bello had a distinguished career in the military, diplomacy, and business. He served as Governor of Kano State from 1975 to 1978. After his retirement, he amassed an enormous fortune through investments in oil, telecommunications, and electricity, eventually establishing the Sani Bello Foundation.
