Ekiti started 2025 on a good note, says Oyebanji
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has stated that the state began 2025 on a positive note, with numerous developments taking place.
Oyebanji attributed the state’s progress and transformation to divine grace, emphasising that these achievements had positioned Ekiti as a model of good governance, accountability, and integrity in Nigeria.
According to a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor made these remarks in Ado Ekiti on Friday during the January edition of the monthly Evening of Praise and Worship.
“We started this year on a good note, a lot of good things are happening – the promotion of our Secretary to the State Government, Habitat Adubiaro, to the rank of Professor of Chemistry; just this (last) week, our distinguished Senator, the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, was also appointed a Life Bencher by the Nigerian Body of Benchers; and by the grace of God, our leader, Governor Kayode Fayemi, will be 60 next week, so we have every cause to thank God,” Oyebanji said.
“There is also cheery news from our agriculture sector. On my way here, the commissioner informed me that the Federal Government just appointed Ekiti as a pilot state in the Southwest for agriculture. So, God has been so good to us, and we are starting this year on a positive and joyful note. And it can only get better.
“We should not relent in praying for ourselves and the state. Ekiti State is now a poster for good governance, accountability, and integrity,” he added.
The governor acknowledged divine guidance in driving reforms and initiatives that had significantly elevated the status of the state and its people.
He credited the administration’s progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic empowerment to divine support, stating that these milestones had improved the quality of life for residents.
“These achievements have earned the state recognition as a beacon of good governance and accountability in the country, in addition to improving the living conditions of the citizens.
“The state has continued to enjoy peace and progress at all levels. I urge the people to continue to pray for the government, remain thankful to God, and be united in supporting this administration’s vision for sustainable development,” he said.
