El-Rufai: Ribadu, Uba Sani Betrayed Me; We’re No Longer Friends

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has publicly declared that he is no longer friends with his successor, Uba Sani, or the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
Speaking in an interview on Arise TV on Monday, El-Rufai accused the duo of orchestrating a smear campaign against him using anti-corruption agencies. He claimed that Ribadu, motivated by alleged presidential ambitions for 2031, was leading efforts to tarnish his reputation.
“This project to destroy Nasir El-Rufai is Nuhu Ribadu’s idea. He is the architect and builder of that project. He is working with Uba Sani to implement it. So far, it has been frustrating for them,” El-Rufai stated.
The former governor further alleged that Sani had aligned with Ribadu in a bid to sideline him politically.
“Uba Sani is not my friend. He is working with Ribadu against me. Somebody wants to destroy my reputation. Why? Nuhu Ribadu wants to be president in 2031. He feels the need to eliminate every northerner he sees as competition,” he added.
El-Rufai’s remarks have stirred political discourse, raising questions about shifting alliances within Nigeria’s political landscape.
