Ex-NYSC DG Maharazu Tsiga Abducted in Katsina

Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and retired Major General, has been abducted in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.  

Tsiga was reportedly kidnapped alongside several residents of Tsiga village in an attack that took place around midnight on Wednesday.

At the time of filing this report, details of the abduction remained unclear. Efforts to obtain a response from Abubakar Aliyu, spokesperson for the Katsina police command, were unsuccessful.

The incident adds to the growing wave of kidnappings for ransom in Nigeria’s northern region, a trend that has raised concerns over security in the area.
