Gombe sets up committees for Ramadan palliative distribution
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has established Ramadan palliative distribution committees to ensure the seamless distribution of relief materials to residents during the holy month.
This was contained in a statement released on Friday by Professor Ibrahim Njodi, Secretary to the Government of Gombe State, conveying Governor Yahaya’s approval.
The statement read, “The initiative aims to facilitate the smooth and effective distribution of relief materials to support residents during the holy month.”
The committees, which take effect immediately, comprise a State Coordinator, Local Government Committee Chairmen, members, and ward committee members.
The Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, has been appointed as the State Coordinator, while Local Government Coordinators include Abdulkadir Mohammed Malle (Akko LGA), Col. Abdullahi Bello (Rtd) (Balanga LGA), and Mohammed Saidu Mohammed (Billiri LGA), among others.
“The committees will ensure that palliatives reach the most vulnerable households during Ramadan,” the statement added.
