Ike relishes experience at NBA All Star BWB camp

Nigerian player David Ike who was part of the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp at the NBA All-Star Weekend 2025, has described the experience as rewarding.

Ike stated that he was happy to receive an award at the camp and said that trust in the process had taken him this far, expressing hope that he would become a big star someday.

He urged kids aspiring to become basketball players to work hard as it would help them realise their ambitions.

He said, “I will implore the young kids to trust the process, and hard work will eventually pay off.

“I am happy I got an award, and coming to America to showcase my skill is a dream come true. This is my first time in the US. I will relish this forever and use it to better my career.”

Apart from Ike, seven other African players, two from Nigeria and five from other countries, participated in the camp. They are Heri Bukinga (Democratic Republic of  Congo), Arafan Diane (Guinea), Ali Assran (Egypt), Ikenna Alozie (Nigeria), Theophilus Edema (Nigeria), Paul Ater Maker Bol (South Sudan) and Ahmed Bedoui (Tunisia).

At the event, the 40 players from 22 countries participated in BWB Global camp.

The campers were taken through basketball  drills, scrimmages and they played games. The camp also offers life skills development, community outreach, and social responsibility programs.

They also had daily clinics on passing, shooting, and dribbling, while seminars on character, leadership, and health concerns were held during the camp.
