NNPP Will Defeat APC, PDP in 2027 – Kwankwaso
Former Governor of Kano State and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential elections.
Kwankwaso made this assertion during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the NNPP held in Abuja on Thursday. He stated that Nigerians are increasingly dissatisfied with the current administration’s style of governance, making his party the viable alternative in the next general elections.
“I believe if there is an election and it is a free and fair election in this country, our party will defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and other parties in this country,” he declared.
Addressing speculations of internal divisions within the NNPP, Kwankwaso dismissed such claims, emphasizing that the party remains united. He alleged that certain individuals spreading rumors of disunity were financially motivated by political opponents.
“And that is why, once some people are making some claims, I believe that silence is the best answer to a fool, even though the fools are benefiting because they are collecting a lot of money from the enemies of the people in this country,” he said.
He also criticized those still associating with the old NNPP logo, comparing their actions to remnants of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) or the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) clinging to their old identities despite the merger that formed the APC.
Kwankwaso further criticized the APC-led government, asserting that Nigerians are suffering under the current administration. He lamented the country’s worsening economic conditions, rising insecurity, and deteriorating infrastructure, which he claimed had not seen any meaningful efforts at renewal.
“We are all aware of the difficulties the PDP is facing and all the challenges the APC is facing because we all know that it is very difficult to find anybody happy with the government of APC at all levels, especially at the national level,” he noted.
“Nigerians have witnessed hardships that we have never seen in the history of this country. Poverty is everywhere. We have seen insecurity, the infrastructure has decayed, and we have not seen any efforts to renew them,” he added.
