Police impose dusk-to-dawn curfew in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command on Thursday announced the imposition of restrictions on movement between the hours of 12am to 5am, effective February 7, 2025.

Our correspondent reports that this decision was made in response to intelligence reports indicating rising threats to the safety and security of citizens in the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said, “Intelligence reports inundating the Gombe State Police Command point to the rising threats to the safety and security of the citizens in the State.

“The Command has resolved to curb the menace of these threats and placed restrictions on movements between the hours of 12am to 5am starting from 7th February 2025.”

The police command emphasised its commitment to prioritising the safety and security of citizens.

“The Command prioritised the safety and security of the citizens and urged members of the public to cooperate with the police in making the state a safe place to thrive,” Abdullahi stated.

Abdullahi advised parents and guardians to caution their wards, as any violations of the restriction will not be tolerated.

“The Command also advised the parents/guardians to caution their wards, as the police will not tolerate any form of violation of this restriction,” Abdullahi warned.
