Police nab man for allegedly defiling six-year-old
The Niger State Police Command has arrested 20-year-old Lukman Aliyu for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl in Ibeto, in the Magama Local Government Area of the state.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on January 30, 2025, at about 5:30 pm, a report was made that on the previous day, the six-year-old girl arrived home from school with what looked like bloodstains on her body.
Upon questioning, she explained that Aliyu had defiled her in a nearby bush as she walked home from school.
The suspect, immediately arrested and allegedly confessed to the crime.
The victim was taken to General Hospital, Nasko for medical attention.
The PPRO also disclosed that another suspect, identified as Genesis Sunday, was arrested for allegedly abducting his neighbour’s six-year-old son.
The boy was found in the Jere area of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a few hours later and handed over to the police.
“During the investigation, the police arrested Genesis Yaryok Sunday, a neighbour of the victim’s family, in connection with the kidnapping,” Abiodun said.
Sunday reportedly confessed to abducting the boy and taking him to Idah, Kaduna Road, where he intended to demand a ransom of N200,000 from the boy’s mother to settle his debts.
The two suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna, the state capital, for further investigation.
