Ramadan Fasting to Commence Saturday, Sultan Declares

Muhammad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, has announced the sighting of the crescent moon, signaling the commencement of Ramadan fasting.

In a broadcast on Friday, the Sultan, who also serves as the president of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), declared that Saturday marks the beginning of Ramadan for Muslims across the country.

He urged Muslims to dedicate themselves to acts of worship and devotion during the holy month. He also encouraged them to use the period to pray for Nigeria and its leaders.

Furthermore, the Sultan emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among Muslims and called on the wealthy to support the needy and less privileged, making it easier for them to observe the fast.

He prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for the country’s leaders as they navigate the affairs of the nation.
