Ribadu Targeting Northern Politicians Ahead of 2031 Presidency – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged that the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, is orchestrating a campaign to suppress northern politicians he perceives as obstacles to his rumored 2031 presidential ambition.

In an interview with Arise TV, El-Rufai claimed, “Nuhu Ribadu is actively working to eliminate every northerner he considers a threat to his presidential ambition in 2031.”

His remarks come amid escalating political tensions in Kaduna State, particularly between him and Governor Uba Sani. The rift between the two has fueled speculation about deeper internal political struggles within the state.

Further intensifying the controversy are allegations of federal interference, following the recent arrests of several El-Rufai loyalists by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The former governor has consistently maintained that these arrests are politically motivated, reinforcing concerns about the federal government’s role in state politics.

With 2031 still years away, political maneuvering in the north appears to be gaining momentum, positioning figures like El-Rufai and Ribadu at the center of an unfolding power struggle.
