Senator Barau Announces 1,000 Scholarships, Opens Seven New University Study Centers

The Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Barau Ibrahim Jibrin, has announced plans to provide scholarships for 1,000 students in Kano Central and South.  

Senator Jibrin stated that he has made arrangements with the management of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, to establish seven new study centers in Kano Central and South Senatorial Districts.

This follows the establishment of four study centers in Kano North.

“As part of my vision to expand university education across the 44 LGAs of Kano State, I have finalized arrangements with the management of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, to establish seven study centers in Kano Central and South Senatorial Districts through the B.I.J. Foundation,” said Senator Jibrin.

The study centers will be located in Madobi, Kiru, Tudun Wada, Rano, Gaya, Dawakin Kudu, and Minjibir Local Government Areas, offering degree and diploma programs in ICT-related fields.

“I am offering scholarships to 1,000 students from Kano Central and South Senatorial Districts to pursue degree programs in ICT-related fields at the FUDMA study centers,” he added.

“Education is the bedrock of national development. I will continue to work towards providing quality education to our people across the 44 LGAs,” Senator Jibrin affirmed.
