Three suspected kidnappers arrested in Edo
Three suspected kidnappers in Uromi, Esan North East Local Governments area of Edo State, have been arrested by the state security corp.
The suspects, Asene Ogah (49) Ibhafidon Eric (29), and Ekpu Godfrey (44) were arrested in connection with incessant kidnapping cases in the area.
Two locally made pump action guns were reportedly found with the suspects.
Speaking with journalists in Beni on Friday, the Commander of Edo State Security Corp, Friday Ibadin, said the suspects were arrested on Tuesday after his men responded to a distress call made by a woman.
He said after the call, the woman hid in the bush while his men rescued her, kept her in a safe place before arresting the suspects
Ibadin noted that his men arrested three of the seven men who invaded the woman’s residence in Uromi to kidnap her.
He said the suspects would be handed over to the police for further investigation.
“Those arrested made revelation of their kidnapping activities and we will hand over them to the police. They claimed to be working with the police, but we have not gotten any message or calls from the police in Uromi, it shows they lied,” he stated.
