Yahaya assumes office as new Gombe police boss

The Gombe State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by CP Bello Yahaya as the 23rd Commissioner of Police, following the redeployment of CP Hayatu Usman to the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

CP Yahaya, who hails from Shinkafi, Zamfara State, according to the statement, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in various capacities within the force and on secondment.

According to a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, a copy which was obtained by Arewa PUNCH revealed that Yahaya’s previous postings include Anambra State Police Command, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration, Zamfara State Command, among others.

“CP Yahaya has attended several courses within and outside Nigeria, including at the prestigious Nigeria Institute of Police Studies, Abuja, the National Policing Centre, Bramshill, UK, and the International Law Enforcement Academy, Rosewell, New Mexico, USA,” the statement added.

Abdullahi noted that Yahaya is committed to working with the community to foster peace and security in Gombe State, adding, “We urge members of the public to continue cooperating with the Command to achieve this goal.”
