Adnan Blasts PDP National Youth Leader: ‘Inaction, Neglect Show You’re Not Doing Enough’

A former Kano State House of Assembly aspirant, Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada, has criticized the National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammad Kadade, for failing to effectively lead the party’s youth wing and mobilize opposition in the country.

Speaking to journalists at PRNigeria Centre in Abuja, Mr. Tudunwada accused the youth leader of neglecting his responsibilities, particularly in engaging and mobilizing young members of the party.

“A Youth Leader is a strong member of the party’s National Working Committee because he represents the entire young people who are members of the party,” he said. “But have you ever seen him holding meetings with youth groups other than posing for pictures with the VIPs?”

Mr. Tudunwada lamented that despite repeated calls from PDP youth leaders, Mr. Kadade failed to organize a mobilisation tour for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, during the 2023 election.

“The Youth Wing is a strategic arm of the party, looking at the significant role young people play in every election,” he said. “Even though I have access to him, the youth leader has failed to listen to almost everybody who will call him to order.”

He also accused Mr. Kadade of remaining silent on key national issues, including the challenges facing the opposition party and the economic hardships in the country.

“Look at what is happening in the country—the SDP issues, the hardships, and everything—but he decided to remain silent because of Nyesom Wike, who is an enemy of the party working tirelessly for President Tinubu to destroy opposition in the country,” he said.

Mr. Tudunwada further alleged that Mr. Kadade’s loyalty lies with Mr. Wike rather than the PDP.

“We heard it from a reliable source that he is not loyal to the party but an individual, Nyesom Wike, who is doing everything possible to destroy our great party,” he stated.

He called on Mr. Kadade to take his role seriously, warning that the party’s youth wing has grown weak due to what he described as the youth leader’s “lackadaisical attitude towards young people.”

“I’m calling on the young man that it is not too late; he should start doing the right thing as the Youth Wing of the party is very weak courtesy of his lackadaisical attitude,” he added.

Mr. Tudunwada, who is also a university lecturer and public relations practitioner, urged young Nigerians to unite and support efforts aimed at salvaging the country.

“The entire young people in the country must come together and unite themselves out of patriotism by supporting any cause that will salvage this country,” he said.
