Arewa Communities in Lagos Declare Support for Senator Barau Jibrin, Dump NNPP for APC

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has met with the leadership of the Arewa Communities in Lagos, led by Alhaji Abdullahi Dan Fulani, at the National Assembly in Abuja.
During the meeting, Dan Fulani, a former member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Kwankwasiyya Movement, announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with his supporters.
He also declared the formation of a new political group, Arewa Community for Barau Jibrin Maliya.
Senator Barau Jibrin acknowledged the presence of the Arewa communities and spoke on the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence.
“I appreciate your commitment to peaceful coexistence and assure you of my continued support and cooperation,” Senator Jibrin said.
Dan Fulani, known for his political influence among northern communities in Lagos, emphasized loyalty and strategic engagement in politics.
“In politics, you don’t wait for opportunities; you create them. Leadership is about direction, not just position,” he stated.
