Armed Bandits Kill 12 Vigilantes, Abduct 4 in Zamfara Attack  

Armed bandits launched a deadly attack on Sabuwar Tunga, a community in Adabka ward, Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, on Tuesday, killing 12 vigilante members and abducting four residents.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the attack on X Wednesday night, the assailants initially stormed the village but were repelled by local vigilantes. However, as the security volunteers pursued them into the forest, the bandits regrouped and launched a deadly ambush.

A security source in the area confirmed the incident, stating, “The community initially repelled them, but unfortunately, the bandits regrouped and ambushed our men, leading to the tragic loss of 12 members.”

The assailants inflicted heavy casualties before retreating deeper into the forest with their captives.

As of the time of this report, security forces have yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack.
