Bandits Storm Kano Community, Kidnap Young Man, Injure Another

Gunmen attacked a family in Zakirai Village, Gabasawa Local Government Area (LGA), Kano State, in the early hours of Saturday, abducting a 20-year-old man, amputating his brother’s finger, and robbing the household.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region, disclosed this on Sunday in a post on his X handle.
According to intelligence sources, the attack occurred at about 2:15 a.m. when three armed hoodlums wielding rifles and machetes stormed the residence of Alhaji Yusha’u Ma’aruf.
“The assailants forcefully entered the house and inflicted severe injuries on Abubakar Yusha’u, 23, by amputating one of his left fingers before abducting his younger brother, Mohammed Bello Yusha’u, 20,” the source revealed.
The attackers also carted away mobile phones and an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene.
A security operative, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that efforts were underway to track down the criminals. “We have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and are working to ensure the safe return of the abducted victim,” he stated.
