Bayero Named Nigeria’s Most Peaceful Emir, Receives Peace Advocacy Award

The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has been recognized for his role in promoting peace in Nigeria.  

The recognition came during an event at the Nassarawa Mini Palace, where the Nigerian Citizens Peace Ambassadors, led by Chairman Professor Yahaya Imam, presented an award to the Emir.

Professor Imam acknowledged the Emir’s decision to suspend the Sallah Durbar, citing it as a measure aimed at maintaining stability in the state.

“Since the beginning of the Emirate dispute, His Highness has consistently worked to uphold peace despite challenges from various quarters,” he said. “This award is in recognition of those efforts.”

In response, Emir Bayero expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering peace.

“We have always been a people committed to peace, a value passed down from our forefathers. Kano is our home, and we will continue to respect the rule of law, believing that whatever is destined for us will be in the best interest of the state,” he said.

He urged Kano residents to remain calm and avoid actions that could lead to unrest.
