Council chair hails gov for resolving months-long blackout

The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has expressed excitement over the restoration of electricity in the council after months of darkness.

A Sunday statement noted that the council boss lauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Eko Electricity Distribution Company for facilitating the restoration of power supply to the community.

The council chairman, while interacting with the residents in Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin in Epe division, said Sanwo-Olu did his best to restore the electricity, noting that EKEDC also stood firmly in making sure that the light was restored in the council area.

She added, “You have seen it yourself that the EKEDC engineers have done the light and the electricity has been restored to the council division, so we should all give kudos to the state government, Eredo LCDA, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA and the Epe LGA of the state for the job well done.”

Animashaun called on the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Department of State Services to intensify efforts in protecting critical public facilities across LGAs.

“She described the state governor’s gesture as salutary, noting that Governor Sanwo-Olu is a people’s governor and a promise keeper, who did everything humanly possible to restore the electricity after months of power outage in the council area,” the statement added.
