C’River Assembly approves three-week leave for gov

The Cross River State House of Assembly has approved Governor Bassey Otu’s request to embark on a three-week annual leave.
At Tuesday’s plenary, Speaker Elvert Ayambem read the governor’s letter seeking the Assembly’s approval. The leave, effective from March 11, is expected to end on April 1.
During his absence, Deputy Governor Peter Odey will serve as acting governor.
The lawmakers expressed confidence that upon his return, Governor Otu would resume his duties with renewed energy to continue steering the affairs of the state. They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting his administration’s policies and programmes.
