Edo Killings: Kano Government Deploys Delegation for Investigation

Kano State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in Edo State, where several lives were lost, with the majority of the victims being Kano indigenes.
In response, Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the deployment of a high-powered delegation to Edo State to engage with authorities and ensure justice for the victims.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government described the incident as “an unfortunate development that has caused great concern to the government and good people of the State.”
The delegation, according to the statement, has been tasked with engaging the Edo State Government to identify the perpetrators and collaborate in efforts to bring them to justice. Additionally, the team will meet with the leadership of the Hausa community in Edo State to discuss the issue and offer necessary suggestions.
“The affected individuals, who were on a legitimate adventure traveling from Port Harcourt en route to Uromi in Edo State, deserve justice, and the Kano State Government is committed to ensuring that their rights are protected,” the statement read.
The government has called on citizens to remain calm and avoid any actions that could escalate tensions. It assured the public that all necessary diplomatic and legal measures are being deployed to address the situation effectively.
“The government is also in close communication with Edo State Government officials and the security agencies towards ensuring justice for the affected families,” the statement further emphasized.
Furthermore, the Kano State Government extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, praying for the peaceful repose of the departed souls.
“The government remains steadfast in its commitment to the protection of its people and will continue to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure that justice prevails,” it stated.
