Eid-El Fitr: Police assure Kebbi residents of improved security

The Kebbi State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and security before, during, and after this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.

The Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to intensify visibility policing and aggressive patrols across the state.

In a press release issued on Thursday by the command spokesman, Chief Superintendent of Police Nafiu Abubakar, Bello extended warm Eid-El-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful in the state and urged them to use the period for sober reflection and prayers for peace and progress in Kebbi and Nigeria at large.

He called on religious leaders, worshippers, and residents to cooperate with security agencies, assuring that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a peaceful celebration.

“As part of our security measures, all officers have been directed to maintain a strong presence through overt and covert deployments. Our focus is to safeguard lives and properties, particularly at worship centers and recreational areas,” the statement read.

The police also issued a stern warning to troublemakers, cautioning them to steer clear of the state or risk facing the full wrath of the law.

The Kebbi State Police Command reiterated its dedication to maintaining law and order and urged residents to remain law-abiding while promptly reporting any suspicious activities to security agencies.
