Eid-El-Fitr: Reps Minority Caucus Felicitates With Muslims, Calls for Prayers

The House of Representatives Minority Caucus has felicitated with Muslims across the country and called for prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.

This was contained in a Sallah message jointly signed by the caucus leaders, including Rep. O.K. Chinda, Minority Leader; Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ali Isa J.C., Minority Whip; Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki, Deputy Minority Leader; and Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi, Deputy Minority Whip.

The caucus congratulated the Muslim Ummah on this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebrations, marking the end of Ramadan.

“It is a unique day for every Muslim, signifying the successful completion of one month of fasting, a cardinal tenet of Islam,” the statement read.

“As our Muslim brethren in Nigeria join others worldwide in marking this auspicious day, we are confident that Allah has accepted all prayers and supplications. We urge everyone to sustain the teachings and virtues of Ramadan, including charity, empathy, generosity, and compassion.”

The caucus also called on Muslims and Christians observing Lent to continue praying for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria.

“We believe that through prayers, our leaders will gain the wisdom and understanding needed to address the nation’s challenges, which have led to hardship and poverty,” it added.

Furthermore, the caucus urged the Federal Government to enhance security measures across the country, citing recent security challenges in the North-West, North-Central, South-East, and South-South regions.
