Eid Message: K-SAFE Urges Renewed Commitment to Quality Education in Kano
The Kano State Accountability Forum on Education (K-SAFE) has called on education stakeholders, government agencies, and community leaders to reinforce their commitment to quality education as Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement signed by Dr. Auwalu Halilu, Co-Chair (CSOs) of K-SAFE, the forum extended warm Eid greetings to the people of Kano, particularly parents, teachers, and students.
“On this joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the good people of Kano State, particularly education stakeholders, parents, teachers, and students. May this Eid bring peace, prosperity, and countless blessings to us all,” Dr. Halilu stated.
Reflecting on the values of Ramadan, he emphasized the need to carry forward its lessons of patience, perseverance, and generosity in the collective effort to improve education in Kano State.
“Just as Ramadan teaches us patience, perseverance, and generosity, we must apply these virtues in ensuring that every child, especially the most vulnerable, has access to quality education,” he added.
Dr. Halilu reiterated that education remains a crucial pillar for sustainable development, urging stakeholders to build a system that is “inclusive, accountable, and responsive to the needs of our children.”
He further encouraged civil society organizations, community leaders, and development partners to intensify advocacy for improved educational policies and greater support for teachers and students.
“The spirit of Ramadan encourages us to be more compassionate and proactive in addressing societal challenges. Let this spirit guide our continuous advocacy for improved educational policies, increased access to learning opportunities, and enhanced support for teachers and students,” he stated.
As Kano State joins the Muslim world in marking Eid-ul-Fitr, K-SAFE urged the government and all relevant actors to take concrete steps toward building an education system where every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.
“Together, let us translate the lessons of sacrifice, discipline, and generosity into actionable steps toward building a future where every child has a fair chance to learn and thrive,” Dr. Halilu added.
