Governor Yusuf Begins Rehabilitation of 17 Kano Roads, Pledges Transformation

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has launched the rehabilitation of 17 dilapidated roads across the Kano metropolitan area. The flag-off ceremony took place at Club Road in Nassarawa Local Government Area.  

Speaking at the event, Governor Yusuf said “I feel highly delighted, I feel happy, and I feel fulfilled. As your governor, who made promises during our NNPP electioneering campaign, especially in the metropolis, we assured that when elected, by the grace of Almighty Allah, we would transform Kano into a mega city.”

He stated that funding for the 17 projects had already been secured in the state treasury to ensure prompt payment and execution.

“Today, we are flagging off one of the gigantic projects for the rehabilitation of dilapidated metropolitan roads which were deliberated and approved by the State Executive Council,” he said.

He added that he would conduct unscheduled visits to project sites to ensure accountability and adherence to quality standards.

The Managing Director of Metropolitan Construction Company, the firm handling the rehabilitation, assured that the work would be completed within the specified timeframe while maintaining quality.

The Commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development, Engr. Marwan Ahmad, said the project would cover major routes, including Club Road, Ashton Road, Airport Road, and Murtala Muhammad Road.
