Gunmen Abduct Senior Police Officer in Abuja

A senior police officer, CSP Modestus Ojiebe, attached to the Kwara State Police Command, was abducted along Kubwa Expressway in Abuja by armed men.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident happened late Sunday night when Ojiebe’s Toyota Corolla broke down near Dei-Dei Barracks. While attempting to fix the vehicle, an ash-colored Mercedes-Benz with four armed men stopped behind him.

The attackers searched Ojiebe and his wife, taking their mobile phones and ATM cards. Upon finding his police identity card, they forced him into their vehicle and drove off, leaving his wife and their car behind.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dawaki Division received a distress call and deployed a patrol team to the area.

Security checks have been increased at key entry and exit points of the FCT as efforts continue to locate Ojiebe and track down the abductors.
