How heartbreak inspired my debut single — Miss Eddy

A budding singer, Womuru Nnedah, aka Miss Eddy, had always known that music was her destiny. Growing up in the vibrant city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, she was surrounded by a culture that demanded audacity, resilience and an unapologetic voice. Now, with the release of her debut single, ‘Over’, she is finally stepping into the light and embracing her purpose as an artiste.

Speaking on how a heartbreak inspired the song, she said, “I feel like I am finally doing what my soul craves. I feel useful to myself as a human being at last. The song was written from a place of pain. It was my first time going through a heartbreak, and I really didn’t want to talk to anyone about it. I had to express those emotions in a song, so I could completely let go.”

The singer, who is signed to Baatifekori, a media management company, also noted that her upbringing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has a distinct impact on her music. She said, “Just by listening to my song, you can hear the audacity it comes with. Port Harcourt is a place that teaches you to be outspoken, strong willed and audacious, and those are some of the things my sound embodies.”
