Hunters’ Murders in Edo Unacceptable – Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the killing of some hunters in Edo State, describing the incident as tragic and calling for a thorough investigation.

In a statement released on Friday, Atiku expressed deep sorrow over the reports, extending his condolences to the families of the victims.

“I am deeply saddened by reports of the tragic killing of some hunters in Edo State. My heartfelt condolences go out to their families and loved ones,” he said.

The former vice president emphasized the need for justice, urging authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation to bring those responsible to justice.

“This unfortunate incident demands a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation to uncover and ensure that those responsible are brought to book,” Atiku stated.

He also stressed the importance of safeguarding innocent lives and warned against acts of jungle justice.

“The protection of innocent lives must remain paramount, and I urge the authorities to act swiftly and decisively to prevent a recurrence of jungle justice,” he added.

Atiku further called on security agencies to ensure accountability, stating, “Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done to restore public confidence in our security institutions.”
