Actor and content creator Yemi Elesho has shared insights into his enduring friendship with the acclaimed singer Asake.

Elesho revealed that their paths first crossed during their time as undergraduates at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, where they forged a bond and collaborated on various films and skits.

Notably, Elesho reminisced about how he would compensate Asake for his performances with a plate of rice and a bottle of Coca-Cola, which amounted to approximately N700.

Reflecting on their university days, Elesho highlighted their participation in celebrity football matches, noting that they have captured numerous photos and videos to celebrate their camaraderie.

He affectionately described Asake as his “day-one” and a “very good friend.”

He said during a TikTok live with Jigan: “I used to give Asake a ₦700 plate of rice and a bottle of Coca-Cola as performance fees for him to feature in movies during our undergraduate days at OAU.

“He is my day-one, my very good friend. I have pictures and videos of our time together at OAU. We used to play celebrity football matches together back in the day.”
