Jigawa Governor Empowers ADSI Graduates with Grants, Beneficiaries Hail Support

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, has restated his administration’s support for youth and small-scale enterprise development at the graduation ceremony of the Arewa Support Development Initiative (ADSI) program.
The event marked the completion of training for young entrepreneurs and skilled workers, during which the governor announced financial assistance to help them expand their businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Namadi commended the ADSI initiative for its role in equipping young people and small business owners with essential skills.
“This initiative aligns with our administration’s commitment to fostering economic independence and self-reliance among our people. We believe that equipping our youth with the right skills and resources is key to sustainable development in Jigawa State,” he stated.
To support the beneficiaries, the governor announced a N10,000 grant for each of the 204 small business owners under the ADSI program and pledged to enroll them in an upcoming empowerment scheme, where they will receive an additional N50,000 each.
The graduation ceremony was attended by government officials, including the State Party Chairman, the Commissioner of Higher Education, the Commissioner of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, and the Director-General of Youth Empowerment and Employment.
A total of 510 students graduated under the IDEAS Project, while 204 small business owners completed the ADSI program under the theme “ADSI 204 Micro-Entrepreneurs in Jigawa: Transforming Nano Business for Sustainable Growth.” In total, 714 people were present at the event.
The ADSI Jigawa Coordinator and Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Hashim H. Hashim, expressed appreciation to Governor Namadi and the Director-General of Youth Empowerment for their support.
“We are immensely grateful for this milestone and look forward to more impactful initiatives under the leadership of His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi,” Hashim said.
He added that the financial support was received with enthusiasm and appreciation from the beneficiaries, reflecting the administration’s focus on economic empowerment in Jigawa State.
