The member representing Rano Local Government in the Kano State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Muhammad Malami Rano, has condemned the recent killing of northern travellers in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Describing the attack as “barbaric, inhumane, and totally unacceptable,” Malami Rano denounced the violence, warning that it threatens peace and unity in Nigeria.

“The killing of innocent citizens who were going about their lawful activities is barbaric, inhumane, and totally unacceptable. No individual or group has the right to take the lives of others in such a cruel and unjustifiable manner,” he stated.

He called on the Edo State Government and security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.

“I call on the Edo State Government and security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into this gruesome incident, ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice, and take all necessary measures to prevent future occurrences,” he added.

Malami Rano also urged leaders at all levels to promote peace and unity, emphasizing that Nigeria’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than division.

“Our diversity should be a source of strength, not division. Violence and hatred have no place in our society,” he said.

Expressing his condolences to the bereaved families, he prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and strength for their loved ones.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the repose of their souls. May Allah grant them eternal rest and give their loved ones the strength to bear this painful loss,” he concluded.
