Kachallah Dogo, 11 Bandits Killed as Army Foils Attack in Katsina

Troops of Operation ‘Fansan Yanma’ have killed 12 terrorists, including the bandit leader Kachallah Dogo, during a combat patrol in Maigora village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The operation took place on Friday around 12:30 p.m. following intelligence reports of an impending attack. Troops engaged the attackers in a gun battle, killing five bandits and seizing two motorcycles.

The remaining assailants attempted a counterattack but were repelled. Security forces pursued them into the surrounding hills, using mortar fire that killed seven more terrorists and scattered the rest.

A search of the area led to the recovery of seven additional motorcycles. Among those killed was Kachallah Dogo, who had been responsible for multiple attacks in the state. Another bandit, identified as Malum, was wounded and is believed to be in hiding.

A resident of Maigora, who requested anonymity for security reasons, confirmed that the bodies of the 12 terrorists were buried on Friday evening. “We saw soldiers moving through the village after the operation. The corpses were later taken away and buried in the outskirts,” the source said.

Security forces remain in the area to prevent further attacks.
